This was announced by the European Union’s (EU) Anti-Drugs Agency yesterday.

According to the head of this agency, the amount of cocaine in Europe is at an unprecedented level, with very high purity and low price. He also said that cocaine is being produced within the EU, which is also unprecedented.

In addition, the EU is becoming an increasingly large market for methamphetamine, with the starting point being the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Currently, European synthetic drug groups are colluding with Mexican drug cartels to increase production in the EU.

The retail cocaine market in the EU is estimated to be worth 10.5 billion euros by 2020. Around 3.5 million EU citizens reported taking cocaine in the last year. An estimated 14 million EU people aged 15 to 65 have tried cocaine. Competition between drug supply gangs has led to increasing incidents of violence, murder and kidnapping in the EU.
