Meghan and her husband confirmed to attend the Platinum ceremony but were “banned” by the Queen of England from standing on the balcony of the Palace, why?

On May 6, the Sussexes confirmed they would be traveling to the UK in early June to attend the Queen’s Platinum Celebration. The information was released by Meghan and her husband just minutes after the Royal Palace made a surprising announcement.

Accordingly, a spokesperson for the British royal family said that Meghan and her husband were excluded from the line-up to appear on the balcony of Buckingham Palace during the Trooping the Color parade – the annual event marking the Queen’s birthday.

The reason is because the Sussex family is not a working member of the royal family. Prince Andrew, Harry’s uncle, who has been stripped of his ranks and is no longer assigned to any duties following a sex scandal, will also be banned from the palace balcony.

Meghan and Prince Andrew will not be allowed to appear on the balcony of the Palace.

A spokesman for Buckingham Palace said on May 6: “After careful consideration, Queen Elizabeth II decided that those appearing on the balcony for the traditional Trooping the Color ceremony on June 2 this year, would be limited to the Queen and members of the royal family in action. perform official duties on her behalf“.

As such, those who will be present on the balcony include the Queen, Prince Charles, Mrs Camilla, Prince William, Princess Kate, Princess Anne, Prince Edward and the Countess of Wessex. In addition, the Queen’s cousins, the Duke of Kent, the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester and Princess Alexandra will also be in attendance.

The Cambridge children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, are expected to be there with Edward and Sophie’s children, Lady Louise and Viscount Severn.

Princess Anne’s husband, Admiral Tim Laurence, may also appear as he is the one who often supports his wife during her official duties. Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie will not appear on the balcony because they do not work officially for the royal family.

A spokesman for the Sussex family added: “Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, are delighted and honored to attend the Queen’s 70th anniversary celebrations this June with their children“.

This is the first time, since birth, baby Lilibet will return to the British royal family to meet family members. Baby Archie, after 2 years living abroad, finally returned to his father’s hometown. Before that, Meghan and her husband had promised the Queen that they would bring their two children back to meet everyone soon.

Harry and Meghan were also invited to the ceremony, but could appear at another event, such as Thanksgiving on June 3 or a dinner party on June 4.
