At the end of April 2022, the authorities of Khe Sanh town, together with the people and the Amaccao Quang Tri wind power plant, took field measurements to determine the area and the owner of the rice field that had been damaged. After that, the units held a meeting with the people to agree on a plan to support damaged rice fields at 8,000 VND per m2. The level of support is given in part based on Decree 02 of the Government on policies to support agricultural production to restore production in areas damaged by natural disasters and epidemics.

Mr. Ho Van Dung said he had received nearly 11 million VND in support for nearly 1,400 m2 of buried rice fields. “The money helps me alleviate some of the difficulties. People just hope that the project will soon build a barrier dike and plant trees to prevent landslides to stabilize production in the long run,” said Mr. Dung.

Mr. Ho Van Hieu, Head of Block 6 (Khe Sanh town) said that people will use this money to rent excavators to renovate rice fields and prepare for the next crop. Some households have not received money because their aquarium is damaged, but the support unit price is equal to the rice field, so they do not agree.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hanh, deputy director of the Amaccao Quang Tri wind power plant, informed that through measurements, the damaged area of ​​rice fields and aquariums was nearly 28,000 m2, of 38 households. This company has paid more than 190 million VND to 32 households, the remaining households are negotiating to continue supporting. “The level of support offered by the company is many times higher than the state’s regulations,” Mr. Hanh said.

“In the long term, the company will strengthen the landslide and landslide-prone positions, plant trees, expected to be completed before the rainy season in 2022,” he said.

Before that, after the flood in early April, 2022, residents of block 6 of Khe Sanh town reported that their rice fields and fish ponds were damaged due to the sand from the Amaccao wind power plant flowing down, completely damaging the area. rice is being cultivated, causing the risk of food shortage.
