Cycling 2,500 km back home to encourage me to do well in exams

ChinaHis eyesight is weak, but Mr. Ren Zhongquan cycled 2,500 km from Fujian to Sichuan on April 14 to encourage his son before the high school entrance exam.

The 52-year-old man said that a year ago, when he was about to go to Xiamen to work, he promised “when you take the high school exam, I will ride my bike back”.

But the plan was opposed by Mr. Zhongquan’s wife and children. Both worried that he might be in danger or exhausted from the long journey. In particular, he suffered from visual impairment due to an eye disease from a young age and could only see within 3 meters.

“But if I don’t do it, I will be a liar in my children’s eyes”, Mr. Zhongquan insisted he would make the trip by any means.

In addition to a deserted road in Jiangxi, one side of the cliff, one side of the cliff, taking 7 hours to travel, the man told about the times he had to take a detour, because some localities banned strangers, to prevent epidemics.

To save money, on sunny days he set up a tent to sleep by the roadside. Rainy day will find an inn. Many people also reduce room rates, give water and food when they know the journey of the 52-year-old man. On May 21, Mr. Ren Zhongquan returned home.
