Sophisticated trick, impersonating a securities company to scam money transfer

Recently, a new form of fraud has appeared with the method of fraudsters forging business registration certificates, setting up websites to impersonate businesses, forging account numbers at banks to scam.

Specifically, the fraudsters forged business registration certificates, set up websites to impersonate Saigon Securities Joint Stock Company (SSI), and forged SSI’s account number at BIDV Bank to commit fraud.

Notably, the scammers claim that the account at BIDV is the “central account for rotation”, while the account holder’s name is an individual named “Nguyen Van Tap”.

Before the above phenomenon, SSI Securities Joint Stock Company confirmed that the above documents and information were completely fake. SSI said that it had reported the incident to the police agency to investigate and handle the above subjects.

Through this incident, SSI recommends that customers contact SSI directly through official channels to check information about SSI’s product and service contacts at SSI’s website, official fanpage, or general Call the SSI Customer Care Center to avoid being scammed and immediately report to the police when discovering that you have transacted with these subjects.

Recently, SSI as well as some other securities companies are often targeted by scammers by impersonating this company. Common types of scams include:

Website impersonating SSI, SHS to scam and appropriate property. The fraudster forged documents of SSI Securities Joint Stock Company, Saigon Securities Joint Stock Company – Hanoi (Certificate of business registration, customer contract,…), SSI account number at BIDV bank, set up a virtual website to trick customers into transferring money and then disappear.

Accordingly, when registering to open an account and invest on a fake website, investors will see increased profits. However, after a while, it will not be possible to withdraw the capital and interest. The scammer will then ask the investor to pay an additional 10% personal income tax or floor fee, file maintenance fee, withdrawal fee, money to upgrade the profile to VIP1, VIP2, waiting for the disbursement. …. After receiving the money, the object will block the investor’s contact to appropriate the property.

Some cases of fraudulent websites with betting, lottery, gambling content. The image is constantly changing, impersonating securities companies SSI, SHS, … through using logos, names of real incentives but distorted images, do not link the content to the official website.

In addition, a common form of fraud recently is to impersonate recruitment to scam download apps.

Objects impersonating employees / chief accountants / recruitment department of securities companies to request to download money-making applications. There has been a case of tricking into downloading SHS and DingTalk apps for profit.

Accordingly, scammers promise to pay app downloaders salaries to do online tasks, “encrypt data”, like, drop hearts, follow, increase interaction for posts of securities companies. At the same time, ask participants to pay a fee to start performing tasks, then take money and block communication.

In many cases, scammers promise attractive investment opportunities, ask to recharge the app / transfer money to make a profile. After the participant transfers the investment money and other “lucky” money to the tax office for filing, VIP account upgrade money, account verification money and 1% record maintenance fee,… lost contact with scammers and could not withdraw money.
