Nghe An police mobilized to donate 3.5 liters of blood, in time to save patients with severe heart failure

Police soldiers participated in blood donation and promptly saved patients with severe heart failure.

Previously, on the morning of April 20, the Live Blood Bank Club (Nghe An Provincial Police) received information that patient Nguyen Duc Thanh (SN 1981, resident of Nghi Phong commune, Nghi Loc district) was being treated at the Faculty of Medicine. Intensive internal resuscitation – Nghe An Friendship Hospital urgently needs 3,500ml of blood for surgery and treatment.

According to the patient’s family, Mr. Thanh was found to have myocarditis after being infected with Covid-19. At present, the patient’s condition has deteriorated, leading to heart failure, requiring urgent surgery. The family has mobilized many relatives and relatives to come to donate blood but not enough due to the large amount of blood needed.

At this time, Mr. Thanh had severe heart failure leading to cardiac arrest and needed emergency surgery but the blood volume was not enough.

After receiving the information, the Live Blood Bank Club (Nghe An Provincial Police) mobilized 11 officers and soldiers from the Police Department for administrative management of social order, the Criminal Technology Division and the Department of Criminal Technology. Provincial Police Detention Center participates in blood donation to save patients.

With a sufficient amount of blood, the doctors performed the surgery on the patient’s favour, successfully.

The patient is currently being monitored and cared for at the hospital.
