Billionaire Elon Musk wants to promote Americans to use Twitter from the “niche market”

Tesla CEO Elon Musk signed a purchase agreement Twitter for $44 billion, raising questions among employees and the public about his social media management strategy.

Billionaire Elon Musk told reporters gathered on the red carpet at the annual Met Gala in New York City that a key measure of success is whether Twitter can expand its audience significantly: “Right now, it’s a niche market. I want the percentage to be much higher, where users can engage in conversations.”.

Twitter has about 40 million daily active users in the US, according to the social media platform’s most recent earnings report.

Musk said he wants the platform to “be as broad as possible, ideally most Americans are on it and chat,” and be as reliable as possible.

The billionaire said he will be transparent about Twitter about how tweets are promoted or demoted and wants its software to be widely available for review.

When asked about the possibility of employees resigning or changing jobs, Mr. Musk said: “This is a free country. Surely if anyone doesn’t feel comfortable with that, they will go elsewhere. That’s fine.”
