Ho Chi Minh City: Schools speed up exam preparation for 10th grade students

Because there are no sample exam questions this year, teachers have to rely on previous years’ exams for students prep.

The scoring method of this year’s exam also has some changes. Instead of calculating the coefficients for each exam subject like Math and Literature with higher coefficients than English, this year all three subjects have equal coefficients. Exam time for all three subjects is 90 minutes. Therefore, schools adjust the way students prepare for exams.

Ho Chi Minh City has more than 92,000 candidates registered for the public 10th grade exam while there are only 72,800 targets, which means about 21.7% of candidates will fail the exam, lower than the 26% of other candidates. last year. The reason is that this year, more than 10,000 candidates actively did not register to take the exam in public schools, but from the beginning they enrolled in vocational schools and private schools.
