Grain supply disengagement signal

United Nations officials are pushing for negotiations with the parties to address growing global food insecurity, partly driven by sanctions.

For its part, the US said it would not impose direct sanctions on Russian grain and fertilizer products and would encourage transport companies to facilitate Russia’s export of these items.

A day earlier, Russian President Putin also affirmed that Russia is ready to create favorable conditions for the export of grain from Ukrainian ports without obstruction, with the coordination of Turkey.
