Turn your old phone into a work of art

Phone An outdated or damaged cell phone – an electronic item that seems to be no longer worth using – can be turned into a work of art.

In a studio in a town in the southeastern Côte d’Ivoire, young artist Koffi searches through discarded keyboards and phone screens for what he needs. Placing them side by side on canvas, he created colorful silhouettes against an urban backdrop. Some works sell for up to $1,500.

Mr. Koffi’s aim is to raise awareness of environmental pollution in a country where waste segregation is virtually non-existent.
