What happens when you stop eating sugar for a month?

During the first few days, Mr. Jones experienced intense cravings, losing focus. But the last 2 weeks of the challenge, things gradually changed.

YouTuber Cam Jones has noticed he’s been eating a lot of sweets in recent months. He decided to eliminate all sugary foods from his diet for 30 days to see the impact on his health.

When he went to the grocery store to buy groceries on the first day of the challenge, Jones realized that the challenge was more difficult than he initially thought.

“I quickly noticed the amount of added sugar in the foods I usually buy. Even in the things I consider healthy, there are added sugars. The more I look at the label, the less I add to my cart. “.

It doesn’t take long to learn the early side effects of cutting back on sugar. Jones began to have intense cravings, low energy, inability to concentrate on work, and headaches. He believes it is because the brain lacks the amount of dopamine received when eating sugar.

“On the plus side, the (sugar) withdrawal symptoms only last a few weeks. So I hope this is the hardest part and things will gradually improve,” Jones said.

He opts for alternatives to his favorite snacks, including fries and fried sweet potatoes. He stocked up on fruit so he could still enjoy something sweet when cravings hit.

In the final 2 weeks of the challenge, Jones has felt some positive effects. “I find myself eating healthier and having a plan with my meals to help keep me full and fight cravings,” he says. I was able to work out consistently without feeling exhausted at the end of the day.”

However, Jones admits the diet takes away a lot of the joy of eating. “This program limits how you can celebrate special occasions,” he says.

“I don’t think it’s helpful to treat sugar as a bad thing. I think it is important to control the amount of sugar consumed regularly. The past 30 days have really helped me regain some of that control and build my intuition to be smarter about my eating habits in the future.”
