What apps do Vietnamese children often use on Android?

According to a report by Kaspersky, Zalo is currently application most used by Vietnamese children with 26.37%, far ahead of YouTube with 16.33% in second place. However, YouTube is still one of the top entertainment apps in most Southeast Asian countries.

Kaspersky’s research is based on anonymized data voluntarily provided by Kaspersky Safe Kids users such as search queries, most popular Android apps, and website categories during the first quarter of 2022.

The data shows that the internet usage habits of children around the world are different from those of Vietnam. Specifically, the 5 most popular apps for children in the world in the first quarter of 2022 include YouTube – leading with 31.6%, TikTok second with 19%, WhatsApp (18%), Roblox ( 7.5%) and Chrome (7.3%). Interestingly, YouTube Kids, an application specifically for children, is not so popular with children when it only accounts for 2.1%.

In addition, according to children’s requests and searches, Japanese cartoons (Anime), Minecraft games and memes attract the most children’s attention.
