Reviewing experience through illustrated high school graduation exam questions

The reference questions for the high school graduation exams in 2022 were commented by teachers not to have much difference in structure and difficulty compared to last year’s official exam.

Solving and correcting illustrated problems Math For students, Mr. Nguyen Van Duc (Mathematics teacher, Dong Quan High School, Hanoi), evaluates that the structure and motif of this year’s topic is similar to that of the official exam last year. The high application sentences are relatively easy, students of the upper level can do it.

* Math illustrations

Mr. Nguyen Cong Chinh (Tuyensinh247 system), said that the categorization of Math questions is not high, suitable for graduation purposes and the context of students affected by the epidemic.

Students easily solve the first 35-40 questions. Questions 41 to 50 are more difficult and require high application of the exam questions from 44 to 50. Regarding the scope of the test, there are 45 questions in the knowledge section of 12th grade and five questions in 11th grade. Therefore, the teacher noted the test. Students do not skip 11th grade knowledge.

Literature also commented on the structure and difficulty similar to last year’s official topic. Mr. Phan The Hoai, teacher of Literature, Binh Hung Hoa High School (HCMC) said that the reading comprehension section asks about awareness and understanding, one sentence per form; and two sentences of application.

* Illustrated subject of Literature

In the writing section, the social essay is required to write a 200-word paragraph about an aspect of the reading comprehension text. The literary thesis statement requires expressing thoughts about an excerpt and has additional requirements, commenting on the humanitarian value expressed in the work.

To do well in this type of exam, students need to master some poetic forms and understand the content of the text in the reading comprehension section. In social discourse, students need to pay attention to discuss a narrow aspect and problem from the reading comprehension text.

According to Ms. Pham Thi Thu Phuong (Tuyensinh247 system), the subject of Literature follows the textbook program, has a full level of awareness and is highly categorical. Average students who firmly grasp basic knowledge can score 5-6, which is enough to qualify for graduation, and good students get around 7 points.

With subject Englishreference topics are assessed to be suitable for both graduation and university admission purposes.

Ms. Nguyen Thanh Huong (HOCMAI Education System) said that the test fully tested phonological knowledge, grammar, vocabulary, communication function, writing and reading skills. About 80% of the questions are at the level of awareness and understanding; The rest is highly applicable and applied.

* Illustrated English subject

According to Ms. Huong, most of the phonics tests test basic words that appear in textbooks; Communicative sentences are also close to life. The type of question finding synonyms, connecting sentences does not appear new knowledge, still involves changing tenses, “modal verbs”, indirect sentences, conditional sentences and inversions. These are the types of questions for students to remove points.

Reading comprehension passages cover familiar topics such as: the importance of sleep; the nature of reading in the modern world; How technology affects our lives. “The reading section also does not appear many difficult words or flying style, so students can easily understand the content,” Ms. Huong said.

The difference lies in lexical sentences (words with the same meaning, pairs of words that are easily confused); reading comprehension, reasoning like sentences 3, 12, 30, 44, 49, 50.

At the complex Social science, History subject is noted because the average score of this subject is often low in previous exams. Ms. Nguyen Thi Huyen Thao (Tran Dai Nghia High School for the Gifted, Ho Chi Minh City) said that most of the exam questions focus on the 12th grade program. World history accounts for 14 questions out of 40.

According to Ms. Huyen, sentences 30 and later are difficult sentences. In which, four comparative sentences in the question are considered the most difficult, accounting for one point. “However, the topic is only suitable for graduation purposes, and for university admissions, such a distinction is not enough,” Ms. Huyen commented.

The new point of the illustrative exam is in sentence 20 – testing the knowledge of the period of “fighting to protect the northern border” – which is a self-study part.

At the complex Natural Sciences, teachers evaluate the exam to avoid the situation of learning cabinets, rote learning. Chemistry and Physics subjects are interested and discussed by many students on exam preparation forums.

For Chemistry, teacher Pham Le Thanh (Nguyen Hien High School, Ho Chi Minh City) said that most of the questions are in the 12th grade program, four in 11th grade.

Theoretical sentences and basic problems range from 1 to 30, arranged from low level of knowledge, understanding to application. This section accounts for 6.5-7-5 points; Average students can solve it well if they master the theory and practice the exercises smoothly. From sentence 31, there are about six sentences of high classification and very high with complex calculation requirements, through many steps.

“In order to promptly solve these questions, students must not only master the nature of chemistry, but also have to think quickly. These questions are suitable for screening candidates into the top schools,” said Mr. Thanh.

With Physics, teacher Pham Quoc Toan (Tuyensinh247 system) predicts that candidates will easily get 5-6 points for graduation. The test has the last eight sentences classified with difficulty level. In general, with this type of question, a score of 9 will be very rare.

A new point in the reference question is that there are many qualitative (theoretical) multiple-choice questions. According to Mr. Toan, it is possible that the Ministry of Education and Training orients many theoretical sentences to suit the situation of prolonged online learning.

On March 31, the Ministry of Education announced reference topics for subjects, including Mathematics, Literature, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Literature, Geography, History, Citizenship Education and Foreign Languages (including seven languages). Languages: English, German, Russian, Japanese, French, Chinese, Korean).

The ministry has not announced the high school graduation exam schedule, which is only expected to take place in July.
